"Entrevista con of Montreal"

Would you believe me if I told you I had been waiting for this to show up since October 2008? No?! Well you'd be wrong, because I totally did, and good things only come to those who wait, right? Below is an interview of Mr. Kevin Barnes (shot on October 16th, 2008 if I remember rightly) with Spanish blog indienauta. I'm sure it's a great blog but it's kind of in Spanish and its only achievement is to remind me that those 8 years "learning" the language were a total waste of time and government money. Anyways, the interview is in English with Spanish subtitles, and I'm not sure it was worth tracking over the internet for a year and a half, but hey, I did it, so I might as well share... After all no-one gets to see Kevin drink from a can of coke in slow motion every day (did they really have to do that when they could have asked questions about Pamplona bulls?)

Family Nouveau - a documentary

Very good news on my facebook wall when I woke up this morning! Mr. Spenser Simrill had posted the trailer from the 2009 European Tour Documentary he had been working on. I was starting to worry that all the footage had gone to waste and that nothing would come out of it, but was I mistaken! Take a look at it - it should be enough to make your mouth water and foam.

If you happen to be anywhere near Chicago, you can attend the premiere on March 5th at the Chicago International Movies & Music Festival. Get your tickets here!

And here are the two snippets he shared last year, in case you missed them then :

of Montreal on Yo Gabba Gabba

After last year's trippy Brush Brush Brush video (which they won't let me embed here, so click the link), the whole band traveled to California last summer to shoot a scene for an upcoming episode of kids' show Yo Gabba Gabba. The show will be broadcast on MARCH 10th on Nickelodeon at 10:30am ET/PT. From what I remember, it's supposed to be about some kid getting attacked by viruses, but I'm not sure who plays what part exactly. And if watching of Montreal promote personal hygiene and a good health care plan (while patiently waiting for Mr. Obama's reform to kick in) isn't enough to make you watch the show, they will also perform one song called “Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast!” - which sounds a lot like my mom's menu after a bad case of tourista. Should be a lot of fun for regular peeps and hypochondriacs alike. Ahem. Where's the Purex?

Thanks to Illuminated for this piece of news that would have otherwise slipped way below my radar.

Brightest Young Things interview

DC blog Brightest Young Things interviewed Jamey just before soundcheck last week. Once again, it makes for a very interesting read, as Jamey is never one to hold anything back - so check it out and learn everything about Bonnaroo 2009's chaotic performance, missing Susan Sarandon's antics in NYC, and his Scandinavian connections.
