Spinner interview

In anticipation of of Montreal's NXNE shows in Brooklyn and Toronto, Spinner asked Kevin about Kishi Bashi's influence on the latest records. And for those who want to keep their eyes on the future, there's also a question about the upcoming record.

Kishi Bashi's Bright Whites video

I tweeted it yesterday (now that's the first time I ever use the word tweet in a relevant way) but didn't see that you could win a $100 voucher from Joyful Noise Recordings or the album in any format you choose. Head over to Kishi Bashi's website for instructions and try to figure out which idioms are featured in the videos, or if you feel confident enough, click here to fill out the form and give your answer.

SXSW : an of Montreal fan schedule.

With South By South West just around the corner, I thought it might be handy to make a special schedule with all oM-related events, since the lucky few who can attend can see not one, not two, not three, not four but five different bands! And I hope I haven't forgotten anyone.

A big thank you to Robert Fountain who sent me the schedule for of Montreal. The Harouki Zombi, James Husband and Yip Deceiver information was retrieved from SXSW's website, but the Kishi Bashi section was compiled from facebook, which as we all know probably isn't the most reliable source of information, but it doesn't appear on the official website... I will edit the post as I find out more.

of Montreal in Berlin tomorrow, special Halloween show on October 29th.

Guten Tag, meine lieben of Montreal fans,

as you might have guessed, this is our own way of saluting of Montreal's arrival in the land of sauerkraut and beer, strong economy and political righteousness, Nibelungen and der Wille zur Macht. Yes, of Montreal is playing the Gretchen in Berlin tomorrow!
But considering no-one from Germany reads this blog (wait, what, are you German? In that case, Entschuldigung!), the big news here (thanks Dottie!) is that Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer? will be played from the baby gurgles to the fade-out coda on October 29th at the 40 Watt. Now I'm pretty sure we've all heard all of Hissing Fauna live, but never in such a linear manner. Should I also mention that List Christee and Harouki Zombi will be DJing/doing their thing after the show? Well I just did! So if you don't have anything planned for Halloween, grab a ticket while they last!

Signing off with a couple of videos posted by Ketil from Casiokids (don't forget their new album - which is about a thousand times better than their previous effort - Aabenbaringen over aaskammen, is out now on Polyvinyl)

(once again I'm making sure that no punctuation mark feels left out)
